On the 19th, the Incorporated Association Gimpo Tongjin Aehyanghoe (Scholarship Association) held its 6th regular general meeting and chairperson inauguration and farewell ceremony at the Tongjin-eup Administrative Welfare Center.

The event, hosted by Secretary-General Ha Jin-yong, began with Part 1, which included scholarship presentations and college scholarship awards. This was followed by the approval of the audit report as the first agenda item; approval of the 2025 business performance report and income-expenditure settlement as the second agenda item; approval of the 2026 business plan and income-expenditure budget as the third agenda item; election of the chairperson and auditors as the fourth agenda item; and reappointment of executive officers and corporate directors as the fifth agenda item. Part 2 then featured the chairperson handover ceremony.

Former Chairperson Lee Kuk-hyun, CEO of Hansung Tech Co., Ltd., who served as chairperson from December 24, 2021, to March 19, 2026, and devoted himself to the development of the association, received a plaque of appreciation from all members, a commendation from the Chairperson of the Gyeonggi-do Provincial Council, and a “key of good luck.”

In his farewell address, the 4th Chairperson Lee Kuk-hyun said, “I am grateful to everyone who has joined us despite their busy schedules. Since our establishment as an incorporated association on December 14, 2020, I would like to thank the corporate directors, auditors, members, the mayor of Tongjin-eup, related officials, and associated organizations who have supported us until today. In June 2021, we were newly designated for three years as an official donation organization through a notice by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and in June 2024, we were redesignated as a public-interest corporation donation organization for six years until 2029, which is a great pleasure. I believe Tongjin Aehyanghoe will continue to achieve even greater growth under Chairperson Lim Byung-ho. I will also do my utmost to support it.” His remarks were met with strong applause.

In his inaugural address, the 5th Chairperson Lim Byung-ho said, “I would like to express my deep gratitude to the 1st Chairperson Ahn Young-gil, 2nd Chairperson Jo Dam-yeon, 3rd Chairperson Oh Hoon-seok, Chairperson Lee Kuk-hyun, the mayor of Tongjin-eup, registered corporate directors, executives, members, Secretary-General Lee Myeong-bok, Secretary-General Ha Jin-yong, as well as the Tongjin Business Association and Tongjin Village Leaders Association, who have taken the lead in the development of Tongjin Aehyanghoe over the past 30 years. Tongjin Aehyang Scholarship Association, which has operated scholarship programs for 30 years since 1990, has greatly contributed to the local community of Tongjin-eup through welfare programs and various forms of support from its 120 sponsoring members in this area, where welfare blind spots still exist. I will do my best to carry on the spirit of those who have contributed and the beautiful hearts of the generous people who have quietly continued to donate.”

Meanwhile, as of December 31, 2025, Tongjin Aehyang Scholarship Association manages total funds of 328,472,500 won, consisting of 280,000,000 won in time deposits and 48,472,500 won in ordinary deposits.
